Q. Why go scanning?
A. Scanning puts you in control. All products are sold at the correct price, all sales go into the right departments. Sales of ‘hot’ items can be checked at any time. Vat analysis is accurate. Most importantly you will know your margin item by item and department by department.

Q. OK – but why link to a wholesaler ?
A. Linking to a wholesaler, particularly if you are a symbol store makes all the above easier. Price updates and margin control are tasks of a few minutes. Wholesaler and central-billing files give you access to cost price, vat rate, sel description and R.S.P.
Ordering takes about an hour using a hand held terminal and orders can be priced and printed immediately.

Q. What happens if I change my wholesaler in the future?
A. If your new wholesaler is on-line we can have you up and running again in about 2-3 hours.

Q. I have a forecourt till linked to my pumps do I need a new till?
A. No, Station Master links to all the forecourt tills – you just need a cable and usually an engineer from RPS, Pump Services or whoever to be on site when you go live.

Q. Do you link to cash registers
A. Yes – Samsung, Tech, Casio and Geller

Q. Are cash registers not a little old fashioned?
A. Yes for a very similar price you can now get a PC based till which will look after accounts, plu’s and lots more. We do one called SmartPos which uses the very latest Touch Screen technology.

Q. Is your TouchScreen Smartpos difficult to use ?
A. No – give yourself five minutes and you will be proficient.

Q. Are Touch Screens not a little delicate?
A. No – you can throw things at them and they are grand !

Q. I have a big shop won’t it take me weeks to get everything on the system ?
A. We will do it for you !

Q. What turnover should I have before looking at scanning and linking to a wholesaler?
A. The level above which you will get returns on your investment is about €13K per week in shop sales.
